Quick Quote's New Summer Samba collection

I am back again with a creation from Quick Quotes new Summer Samba collection. This is a collection full of fun bright colors! It was perfect for this photo of my daughter hamming it up in the pool. The vellum was perfect to use along with the journaling spot for my title. I cut the banners with my Quickutz digital cutter. I just LOVE this new collection. It is absolutely perfect for those summer and vacation photos. I used Spellbinder's Creative Page Tab die to put the year of the vacation. I love these page tab dies. They are so unique in the fact that they not only cut, but emboss too. For my tag I cut and embossed. Love how versatile they are.

New Dreamscape from Quick Quotes

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying the start to 2012. I for one am always trying to organize in January so I thought I would share how to make this cute little flip desk calendar. I used the new "Dreamscape" collection from Quick Quotes that is being released at CHA and Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle Dies. Please check out Quick Quotes blog this month for fabulous creations from 3 new collections that will be at CHA.
Steps:
1. Print or stamp a set of mini monthly calendars. I printed mine from calendarlabs.com. They were free and the perfect size.
2. Cut and ink the edge of each month with Mocha Mama powderpuff ink.

3. Cut 15 of the largest die from Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die. 11 of these will be for the inside pages, and the other 4 will be used for the front and back of each of the covers. I used Dreamscape papers 100 and 300.

4. Using the largest rectangle die again and chipboard cut the front and back covers of the mini calendar.

5. Adhere the pattern paper rectangles to the front and back of each chipboard piece using Beacon's 3 in 1 glue.

6. For the cover, cut the 3rd to largest rectangle die. I used cream cardstock for this. Ink the edges with Mocha Mama ink. Then cut the 3rd and 2nd smallest rectangles using Dreamscape papers. I used the 100 and 300. Adhere the 3rd largest and 3rd smallest rectangle as shown in the picture. Ink around the "2012" label and adhere this to the smallest rectangle. Add a pop dot to the back of this so it is raised a bit. Tie a bow using Quick Quotes pink and black gingham ribbon and adhere below the "2012" title.

7. Bind the pages and covers together using a Bind-It-All. If you do not have one of these, you can simply punch holes and add a ring to keep them together. Here is a picture of one of the inside pages.

Gift Card Holder

I don't know about you, but I always have gift cards that I give each year. I like to personalize them by making a creative holder. My Silhouette digital cutter makes this so easy! I just open the "tag gift card holder" from my library of images I have purchased. The image will look like this:

I loaded my mat with papers from the Wonder and Wishes collection. I used the brown and dots paper to actually hold the gift card. For the base/holder of the gift card I used the red poinsettia paper. My Silhouette does the hard work of cutting them out for me. I inked the edges with red ink. I wrapped Doodlebug twine around the gift card holder and added a chipboard tag as well. Here is my finished gift card holder.

Friday Challenge on the Quick Quotes Blog

It is challenge time on the Quick Quotes blog. It is a simple and useful challenge! The challenge is to create a tag to use this season. If you do not celebrate Christmas, you can create a gift tag to use.

I created this ornament gift tag using the Quick Quotes December Club Q kit and a digital image that I cut on my Silhouette. It is a 3-D ornament tag. I inked the edges with amaretto powderpuff chalk ink. I also adhered some pearls from the kit to give it a little something extra. Description/tips/techniques:
I inked the edges of the present. I also used torn paper to add texture to my layout. To create my ribbon, I just tied a know. The smaller ribbon was done the same way. I used stickles on my present as well as below the ric rac. I also placed some stickle dots in some of the dots of the background pattern paper.
The 3-in-1 Beacon glue is great for adhering chipboard to paper. I used a little on the back of the larger bow as well. I love the strength of this glue.

With Christmas around the corner I chose to do a festive layout using only supplies from Quick Quotes November Club Q. I mounted the quote behind a black cardstock frame. I love the burgundy vellum with the music notes. The brads add a splash of color as well.

I know this picture is crazy, but I just couldn't resist taking the picture of my daughter showing me how to cross her eyes. It is a bit freaky...but just had to get a picture. I was inspired by the white space challenge on the Quick Quotes blog. I used the Live Out Loud collection by Quick Quotes: 400 and adhesive glitter diecuts.

I had so much fun creating this layout for the sketch challenge on the Quick Quotes blog. I was lucky enough to get to create with the September Club Q kit as well. The kit was perfect for my Apple Butter themed layout. Quick Quotes products used: Cherry Truffle Collection: 200, 300, 40o, 3-in-1 adhesive. The twine, flowers, and gems were from the September kit. I also use American Craft and Momenta sticker letters, and Bazzill cardstock. I used my Silhouette to cut out the apples and scalloped borders. A simple thank you card

I used my silhouette to cut out and piece together the tree. The papers and brad are from Harmonie. I chose the color scheme based on a challenge at the Play Date Cafe. I also used paper piecing for a challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.

With a little fancy cutting I came up with this "Smile" layout showcasing my daughter Sydnee playing at the park. I used mostly Urban Lily products: Sushi Stripe, Sushi Dots, and Sushi. I also used red Smooch Spritz spray and some Bazzill cardstock. The design was inspired by a Sketchy Thursdays sketch.

Quick Quotes September kit is just gorgeous. I have the privilege of being on the design team. Each month I get to rework the kits to show their versatility. Here is the first layout I came up with.

3 in 1 Beacon glue

Description/tips/techniques:
I used the inside pieces of the diecut leaves and border to embellish around my journaling strips. I cut the long vellum quote into 3 sections, mounted them on cardstock, and then inked the edges. The 3-in-1 Beacon glue is great for adhering the strip of gems.
I adhered the black mats and the photos onto the red pattern paper. Everything else was adhered right on top of the transparency. I kept them as 2 different sheets and just slid them both into my page protector.

This is an easy card that can be used to send a sweet message to a friend. It is good to have a supply of these types of cards ready made.

Tips/Techniques:
Ink the edges of all the papers
Adhere the quote to orange cardstock. Then tear out a space on the front of the base of the card. Adhere the quote under the tear so it is peaking through.
Use the Beacon 3-in-1 glue to avoid wrinkles in the pages.

Book Bag Key Chain Album

I made this for my daughter to attach to her school book bag. That way she can take us with her to school. If her book bag gets lost it will also help the finder identify who it belongs to by the id tag.

This challenge was perfect for me. August 9th I will be celebrating my 14th year anniversary. I decided to make a mini album for my husband. I used the August Club Q page kit and the August Canvas kit for my album. These kits come with detailed instructions on how to make pages and the Canvas mini album, however, I re purposed the kits to make my own version. These kits are so versatile. You can recreate their ideas or create your own like I did. The front and back covers of my album are canvas pieces. The inside is accordion style like the Canvas kit explains. I put pictures of myself and our 2 girls on the inside pages. There are pockets with tags on the opposite sides of each picture. On my tag I wrote a personal message to my husband. I then wrote on each of the girls tags traits that they each have that came from their Dad.

For the back of my album, I inked the edges and stamped my thumbprints into a heart shape.

Here are a couple of projects I have done using the Savvy Davvy paper collection. I love the bright bold colors of this collection. It just screams summer fun to me!

I made this album to take with me on my vacation. All the inside pages are 6x6 so I could journal while on vacation and then just add my photos when I returned. I inked a hand print of each of my girls so I would remember just what size they were. The powderpuff inks are perfect for this. They are stamped on canvas and make up the back page. The front cover is canvas as well. This was part of the June Club Q.

I also created this fun summer layout with the Savvy Davvy collection.
You can tell I love to use inks and distress my edges. Quick Quotes inks are so rich and full of color. They are perfect for inking those edges.

As I posted earlier Quick Quotes has a gorgeous Club Q kit for July...these kits are so versatile. They come with ideas for making pages. but I decided to repurpose the kit to show that you can do more with the kits.
Here is another layout that I made with the kit. Everything is from the kit except for the Quick Quotes Mocha Mama and Very Berry powderpuff chalk inks. I also used Bazzill cardstock and some espresso pearls on the chipboard butterfly. I just love the large doily that comes with the kit. I cut the center out and put the dark brown cardstock behind it. I added a few of the purple gems to accent it as well. The design was inspired by the July 7th sketch at Sassy Lil Sketches.

I repurposed the June Club Q to make this layout of my daughter on the 4th of July. These kits are so versatile. They come with pre-planned pages for those who like things planned out, or you can do like I did and create a new page with the materials given. Everything I used was from the kit except for the Maraschina Cherry powderpuff chalking ink. I wrapped the ribbon around the plastic circle and placed it in the center of the sun diecut.

I recently worked with the June Canvas Club Q kit from Quick Quotes. I reworked my album in to a day in the life album that I will be taking with me on vacation to journal each day. I can then just add my pictures when I get home. There is a place on the inside back cover to add my favorite vacation photo as well. Each of my inside pages are 6 x 6.

It has been amazing to see all of the fabulous creations from the Punky Sprouts and TaDa design teams. I am honored to be part of TaDa's design team and sharing my album with you today.

I used TaDa's Bountiful Blooms collection on this fabulous "Junk in My Punk" album from Punky Sprouts. Recently we had our landscaping done. This album was perfect for documenting the flowers, pricing, etc from our new gardens.
I hand-cut the flower petals and then used a Lil Bloom from Punky Sprouts for the flower center. On each page I used TaDa's Snippets and Clippets to record the kinds of flowers in each of our different beds. Each page shows a different bed. I made a pocket on the back of the cover to put the "blueprints" and receipt from the landscaper.Here is another similar page. I just love the uniqueness of the Punky Sprout albums. I have 2 pages of acrylic that I will be adding pictures of the flower beds later in summer to show the growth. I also had lots of fun with the canvas page. I used the TaDa flower stamp randomly on the canvas and then added the stamped sentiment. I love how the kit makes it so easy to create these awesome flowers. You just punch out the circles, and the creases are already on the circles. All you have to do is fold and adhere them next to each other. The flower was perfect for my gift card envelop holder.

I didn't take many pictures in January so I only did a one page layout. This works out since the first page of the album is only one. I used Harmonie pattern papers and stamps, Momenta and Making Memorie sticker letters/numbers, and Smooch Spritz with a snowflake mask I cut from my Silhouette machine.

I created an altered 4 x 6 photo album using the Bountiful Blooms collection. It is one of my favorite collections. To create the altered album, I just removed the insert from the plastic cover and replaced it with my creation. I used pattern papers and some stamps from the collection.

I love making recipe cards. I put them in my 6x6 album. I have been concentrating on healthy recipes lately. I have lost 28 pounds since the beginning of January and am really excited! Anyways here is a recipe to share with you. I did forget to add that you put the part skim Mozz cheese over the top. I used the # 42 sketch at Get Sketchy. I used BoBunny papers and a Rubber Romance stamp.

Working on my daughter's school album and Father's Day cards

I was inspired by the June 1st sketch at stuck sketches. I mirrored the sketches to create a double page layout. I used Momenta's All through the Year super pad for the pattern paper and number letters. I inked my daughter's hand as a memory for her Kindergarten year. I also used a Silhouette Digital diecutting machine to cut out the apples for the challenge over at scrapfit.

My daughter loves to scrap with me, so we decided to include some of her artwork on cards for Daddy and Grandpa.
We created this card for Daddy using sketch 170 from CPS We used Card patterns sketch 67 to create this card for Grandpa.

Kristie works with me on the Pink Persimmon stamp design team. She just recently added a sweet adorable baby boy to her family. He is just beautiful! The team members had a little surprise ready for her. We made a baby congrats card for her. I used Pink Persimmon's Flower Greetings and Ric Rac Circle. I used my youngest daughter's thumbprint to make the little chick. I also used some fun green apple twine from Divine Twine. Making Ornaments again

Each year, I love to make ornaments using the clear craft bulbs. I have finished one, and am working on 2 more. Here is the first:

I filled the ornament with fake snow. I then stamped the "Kiss Me You Fool" stamp by Rubber Romance. I used staz-on ink. I then used some stickles and Ranger pearls to fill in the stamped image. I added a bling gen on the finger. I am giving this to a friend who will be celebrating her first Christmas as a married woman.

For this ornament, I used Harmonie's silver peel stickers and a Harmonie ribbon. I then filled it with fake snow as well.
