Authentique and PageMaps

Scrapbook Express carries many different scrapbook manufacturers. Authentique is one of my favorites. Each of their collections has a variety of paper choices. The collections come with alphabet, phrase, and title stickers. The papers are nice and thick and everything in the collection is high quality. I created the layout below using the Lively collection from Authentique. Everything on the layout is from the collection with the exception of the Barley flowers from Prima. The layout design was inspired by the sketch contest at PageMaps.

CPS Thank-You card

I have one more day of school with my students. I can't believe the year is almost over. Last week you saw the lemonade cups I made. This week, I am making a simple thank-you card for a special teacher. I did use a fun new tool on this card. The store recently received Prima's all in one distressing tool. I LOVE this! So easy to use. I used it around the edges of the inside mat. The design of this card was inspired by a sketch from CPS.

One Fine Day from Quick Quotes

I am back again with a creation from Quick Quotes new One Fine Day collection. This is a collection full of fun pastel colors! It was perfect for this photo of my daughter coloring Easter Eggs. This collection would be not only perfect for Easter photos, but spring, summer, and tropical vacation photos as well. I used Spellbinder's Wonky Rectangle dies for my picture as well as the other pieces of pattern papers. These rectangle dies are so fun to play with. They are so unique in the fact that they not only cut, but emboss too. Love how versatile they are. Blue Hawaiian powderpuff ink matches the blues in the One Fine Day collection. I used it to edge each of the pattern paper pieces.I also created this fun and simple card with the One Fine Day collection and Spellbinder's wonky rectangle dies. The Limeade powderpuff chalk matches the greens in this paper collection perfectly. I inked the edges of everything to give the card some dimension. Materials:
Quick Quotes new One Fine Day collection
Blue Hawaiian powderpuff ink
Limeade powderpuff ink
Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle Dies
Doodlebug twine
Cosmo Cricket alphabet stickers
Momenta sticker letters
Miscellaneous buttons

It is absolutely perfect for those summer and vacation photos. I used Spellbinder's Creative Page Tab die to put the year of the vacation. I love these page tab dies. New Dreamscape from Quick Quotes

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying the start to 2012. I for one am always trying to organize in January so I thought I would share how to make this cute little flip desk calendar. I used the new "Dreamscape" collection from Quick Quotes that is being released at CHA and Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle Dies. Please check out Quick Quotes blog this month for fabulous creations from 3 new collections that will be at CHA.
1. Print or stamp a set of mini monthly calendars. I printed mine from They were free and the perfect size.
2. Cut and ink the edge of each month with Mocha Mama powderpuff ink.

3. Cut 15 of the largest die from Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die. 11 of these will be for the inside pages, and the other 4 will be used for the front and back of each of the covers. I used Dreamscape papers 100 and 300.

4. Using the largest rectangle die again and chipboard cut the front and back covers of the mini calendar.

5. Adhere the pattern paper rectangles to the front and back of each chipboard piece using Beacon's 3 in 1 glue.

6. For the cover, cut the 3rd to largest rectangle die. I used cream cardstock for this. Ink the edges with Mocha Mama ink. Then cut the 3rd and 2nd smallest rectangles using Dreamscape papers. I used the 100 and 300. Adhere the 3rd largest and 3rd smallest rectangle as shown in the picture. Ink around the "2012" label and adhere this to the smallest rectangle. Add a pop dot to the back of this so it is raised a bit. Tie a bow using Quick Quotes pink and black gingham ribbon and adhere below the "2012" title.

7. Bind the pages and covers together using a Bind-It-All. If you do not have one of these, you can simply punch holes and add a ring to keep them together. Here is a picture of one of the inside pages.

Hope you have enjoyed this post! Have a fabulous day! ~Julie Detlef
